Mike Nasty releases “Breakthrough” off Active EP

Share

Brooklyn based NYC DJ/producer Mike Nasty presents his debut single “Breakthrough” off of his upcoming EP Active, out now via Nasty Tracks.

Mike Nasty is coming off the heels of his sell out Jumpin’ Thumpin‘ parties, and the release of Lion Babe’s “Harder,” which has been receiving consistent BBC Radio 1support.

“The Breakthrough record is symbolic of my journey to enlightenment. It’s like a psychological concept similar to the Dunning-Kruger effect. Starting at a point where you know nothing, yet you go down this road of competence seeking knowledge and experience in order to become a guru. I haven’t reached this pinnacle in my career yet, but I feel as if I’ve had a significant “breakthrough” moment while creating this music. When I made this record something clicked in my head. I felt like I was tapping into the nostalgic sounds of house music all while giving it a new modern day twist. The piano, pads, bass, saxophone and percussion give me this warm feeling of happiness that I want to share with the rest of the dance music community.” Shares with us.

Of what to expect from the EP, Mike Nasty shares “The sound is very soulful, sample filled house music with hard kicks. I focused on melodics and minimal vocals.”
