Lex Valverde & Weitner Bring the Heat with ‘Fuego’ on dt weapons

Share

dt weapons continues its 2026 release schedule with ‘Fuego’, a fiery new collaboration from Mexican-born, Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Lex Valverde and Toronto house artist Weitner.

Two producers with a clear understanding of the dancefloor, Lex Valverde and Weitner combine their respective club influences for a rolling tech house cut centred around rhythm, pressure and an instantly recognisable vocal hook.

From the opening bars, ‘Fuego’ settles into a tight, muscular groove. Punchy drums and crisp percussion provide the framework, while a weighty bassline moves underneath with just enough swing to keep things loose. The production remains deliberately stripped back, allowing the vocal to cut through before carefully placed fills and rhythmic shifts push the track into its next gear.

It is direct club music with very little wasted space.

Lex Valverde Continues His Rise Through the European Underground

For Lex Valverde, ‘Fuego’ arrives during a significant period of momentum.

Born in Mexico and now based in Amsterdam, Valverde has spent years absorbing club culture across Mexico, Germany and the Netherlands. Having previously released music under the Better Than Lex alias, 2026 has seen the producer move forward under his own name, sharpening his sound around groove-driven tech house and darker techno influences.

That evolution has already begun turning heads. Following multiple charting releases and support from respected names across house and techno, Valverde was recently selected for the Pete Tong DJ Academy Future Talent Beatport Award, adding further weight to a rapidly developing year.

His approach is built around movement and momentum, something that sits firmly at the centre of ‘Fuego’.

Weitner Brings the Groove

On the other side of the collaboration is Toronto DJ and producer Weitner, an artist whose productions regularly lean into the funkier and more percussive corners of house music.

With music connected to labels including Flashmob Records and Spacedisco Records, Weitner has developed a groove-led style shaped by chunky basslines, big percussion and vocal-driven club records. He is also familiar to Data Transmission listeners through his Control Room Radio show, where house and tech house remain firmly at the heart of his selections.

On ‘Fuego’, that rhythmic instinct comes through clearly.

The collaboration finds a natural meeting point between Valverde’s darker, driving club energy and Weitner’s funkier house sensibilities. The result is a record that feels focused without becoming predictable, carrying enough personality to stand out while remaining undeniably functional in the booth.

‘Fuego’ Lands on dt weapons

As the title suggests, ‘Fuego’ is all about heat.

The vocal hook provides the track’s immediate calling card, weaving through rolling drums and low-end pressure as the arrangement steadily builds. Rather than relying on oversized breakdowns or unnecessary production tricks, Lex Valverde and Weitner keep the emphasis firmly on the groove.

Built for packed club rooms, festival stages and those points in a set where the dancefloor needs another level of energy, ‘Fuego’ is a confident collaboration from two producers currently pushing their respective sounds forward.
