Clif Jack teams up with Mauro Picotto to deliver a 2025 version of “Komodo (Save A Soul).” The original mix of “Komodo (Save A Soul)” came out in 2000, and was a massive hit on dance floors across the globe. It’s a track that appears in the tracklist of most noteworthy trance classics compilations, and is just one of Mauro Picotto’s many seminal tracks.
“Komodo (Save A Soul)” is a solo production by Mauro Picotto, but Clif Jack has been invited to collaborate on a 2025 rework, which is out now on Armada Music.
Armada Music is doing their third volume of Mauro Picotto’s ‘Claxixx’ series, which sees his many classic tracks get a modern rework, and Clif Jack’s version of “Komodo (Save A Soul)” is spearheading the package.
Clif Jack and Mauro Picotto are both Italian artists, one from the new-school, the other from the old-school.
Representing the new-school, Clif Jack is a dynamic producer and respected DJ who has showcased his peak time style of techno through scene leading record labels such as Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth on Acid, Sam Paganini’s JAM, and Spartaque’s Codex.
Clif Jack’s style has the same fusion of memorable hooks and slamming drums as Mauro Picotto, making him well placed to modernise a classic like “Komodo (Save A Soul).”
Mauro Picotto & Clif Jack’s interpretation of “Komodo (Save A Soul)” has hammering drums and a bubbling acid line at its foundation. The original’s euphoric melody line has been turned into an arpeggio that fades in and builds suspense. The original’s vocal is used in the breakdown section, which has tranquil pads, sandwiched between the raw drums of the main groove.
