In a poll of dance music fans by DJ Times & Pioneer DJ, Claude Von Stroke was voted America’s Best DJ, taking the title from last year’s winner, Steve Aoki. Votes were cast online at the America’s Best DJ website as well as in person at over twenty club nights and music festivals across the country. The Dirtybird Records founder will receive the honor at the ABDJ Award Ceremony/Closing Party at San Diego’s Omnia Nightclub on September 30th where he will be presented with a personalized, gold-plated Pioneer DJM-900nexus mixer.

This award commemorates the hard work Claude Von Stroke has put into his music and his record label, influencing the world of house music from his home base of San Francisco. The past few years of low-end heavy, booty shaking house music owes a debt of gratitude to Claude and his crew and this award is the fans way of saying “thank you“.

Raised on a steady staple of Dance Music compilations, I discovered House and Techno through the likes of Armand Van Helden and Carl Cox as a toddler. As a teenager in the SF/Bay Area, I discovered the world of raves and clubs and my passion for the music grew exponentially. Now, I live in Miami, run the Underground Dance Music blog playhous.net, and co-manage the Bass label Bunkr Music.
