Los Angeles-based up-and-comers Alex and Matt, better known as AM138, began their musical journey when they were about 15 years old and were playing together in a band called Vagrant Terror in Arizona. Next thing they knew, they were throwing raves for their community. This led to their intense love for art and electronic music, so the two morphed together and AM138 was born.
Alex and Matt continue working on music just about every day in their studio with hopes to give their listeners something to care about. They are known for their eerie soundscapes and experimental edge to techno, which hides in the deepest and darkest of places. This can be heard in their debut Black Line EP recently released on Descender’s new label Esten Club Records. Depicting a world of madness, psychedelia, transcendence, and escape, they aim to provide an opportunity to exist in a world where your everyday life and problems are not present. They grew up punk, moved to metal, and eventually found and will forever live in the world of rave. This is the experience they provide.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
