The full moon is a time of greater activity and positive opportunity. It can increase your positive energy or conversely, it can wreak havoc on your emotions. Whatever is going on in your body will amplify your mind and spirit. On August 20th and 21st, the full moon will be in full effect and to embrace its energy will be Full Moon Fest presented by Matte Projects. Full Moon Fest is a boutique approach to a New York City Music Festival.

In its sixth consecutive year, Full Moon Fest returns to its Thai beach inspired roots with worldly cultural sensibility and the New York touch. This year we celebrate the August’s blue moon over the course of two days and nights on New York’s Governors Island, backlit by panoramic city and skyline views. It’s properly summer, which means cold things in cones, minimal clothing, long days and longer nights, and two full days of great music, food, art, and good vibes.

With the perfect ambiance must come a fortified roster of live acts and sounds that dive deep into the soul driving your inhibitions to run free. Traverse through sounds of funk, tech, and soul with SBTRKT, Santigold, Pusha T, Black Coffee, Allah-Las, Julio Bashmore, Moodyman, LolaWolf, Kali Uchis, Escort, Dave Harrington, Marcus Marr, and New York’s own JDH & DAVE P, BAILE and Jil.

A day’s worth of moon worshipping is sure to stir up some hunger. MATTE Projects is pleased to present an assortment of delectable treats from some of New York’s favorite eats including Matcha Bar, Mile End, Best Pizza, Pokito, Chalk Point, Clean Shave, and more.

Drawing its inspiration from the full moon beach parties celebrated on the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand, New York vibes will coalesce with the aura of Thailand as we celebrate the earth’s most enchanting satellite. With a process rooted in design and contextualized with culture, MATTE brings brands and projects to life through content, music, experience, and creative strategy and this will definitely be a magical event starting at 3pm and going until the break of dawn!
