Kappa FuturFestival returns to Parco Dora in Turin for the annual summer smash. Check out last years review here

The excitement is building and as we’re counting down the days until Kappa FuturFestival kicks off, I have put together my top acts to watch at this year’s edition.

Saturday

Amelie Lens

One of the best things to come out of Belgium since waffles and beer. Her brand of slamming techno has propelled her into the limelight. In just a few short years she has done what many people only dream of doing in their entire lifetime.

Derrick May

What can you say about this titan of techno? One of the Belville Three, he’s been at the foreground of the scene since the beginning and is still as relevant now as he’s ever been.

Boys Noize

Alexander Ridha, the Berlin-based producer has tirelessly toured his unique blend of electro house and techno. His firebrand selections are set to tear up the stage!

Capofortuna

The trio of consists of brothers Riccardo and Francesco Cardelli, as well as Davide Santandrea, better known as Rame. Capofortuna draws from each of its Italian members, who bring with the foundations of Italo-disco. The trio has a large collective musical past and has been around the Italian scene for a while under various guises. Capofortuna sees them come together to create house music that uses a mixture of traditional and analog instruments. Gathering support from fellow DJs, the trio is definitely one to watch out for.

Gerd Janson B2B Prins Thomas

The Running Back head honcho is set to share the decks with Norwegian producer Prins Thomas, who dropped his latest album ‘Ambitions’ earlier on this year. The elements of house and disco that the two DJs regularly draw on should make for a groovy set.

Sunday

Charlotte De Witte

The other best thing to come out of Belgium! Her dark and industrial sound has made sure that De Witte is one of the hottest names in techno right now. And of course, that remix of Eats Everythings ‘Space Raiders’ has been tearing up dancefloors all over the world.

Ricardo Villalobos

Renowned for his marathon sets and groovy dance moves, the Chilean-born German DJ has provided some memorable moments over the years. You never know what to expect when Ricardo steps up to the decks. You know it will be amazing but you can never prepare ourself for the rollercoaster that will ensue!

Red Axes

The Israeli electronic duo is always an exciting prospect, inspired by sounds from a wide variety of genres. This is apparent from their latest EP Trips #2 Vietnam, which saw the pair travel across Vietnam recording local sounds along the way some of which heavily influence the release on !K7 Records. Expect to hear some a nice mix of music here!

Nina Kraviz

The Trip label boss is known for her enigmatic dancing and her smashing selections, some of which tend to feature a little acid flavour. The way she draws in the crowd while making each person feel like she’s playing just for them is a skill many desire but very few have.

Richie Hawtin

It was a few years ago when Richie Hawtin released an app that allowed you to build and play techno tracks from a series of loops that this young writer was first introduced to the scene legend.

There are still a few tickets left for this year’s Kappa FuturFestival, get them here
