Atjazz shares a selection of his favourite Ocha Records cuts

Ocha Records underlines its credentials as a home for quality underground house music as long-time friend, Martin Iveson a.k.a. Atjazz, lands on the label with a remix of Coflo & Lady C’s 2019 vocal-led cut, ‘Easy. The revered UK DJ, producer and label owner, skilfully twists the uplifting afro house vibe of the original into a stylish deep house groove. Released globally on December 2nd, Atjazz brings his undeniably unique and definitive touch to an already stunning track, giving it a whole new lease of life. Lush, sweeping Rhodes and a beautiful new arrangement of Lady C’s captivating vocals take this one into unmissable new territory.

During his 20-year career Atjazz has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including the likes of Nitin Sawhney, Bob Sinclar, Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova, Karizma, Osunlade and Omar. His distinctive sound and experimental approach to electronic music via his Atjazz Record Company imprint has ensured he remains in high demand around the world both as a producer and remixer, as well as a floor-filling DJ. The new release on Ocha will only add to this talented artist’s reputation.

To celebrate the release of his latest remix on the imprint, Atjazz shares an inspired selection of his favourite Ocha Records cuts:

Mzee – Mahuwelele (feat. Candy Nurse) (Mzee’s Tribal Mix)

One the best crossover deep house records in my opinion, full of what sounds like other-world sounds and is as slick as it gets.

DJ Kemit – Teller (feat. Eric Roberson) (Pablo Martinez Remix)

Again, this is a magical meld of what we used to call afro-house & soulful deep music, Amazing!

Coflo – Lux (Kaidi Tatham Remix)

Let’s talk about someone reworking Coflo before we hit his own productions, Kaidi is king and can readjust to work himself into any song, it is apparent here. I LOVE the subtlety of this.

Coflo – Spiritu (Coflo’s Extra Spiritu Mix)

Warm & Aggressive is equal measure, This particular version of Spiritu is a mainstay, not overly one style or another so can fit well into any DJ set.

Tamara Wellons – You Are (Coflo Remix)

Coflo in remix mode, straight up, for my money, Coflo’s best remix work to date, musically perfect in every way and slides effortlessly under Tamara’s original vocal.

Coflo – Easy (feat. Lady C) (Atjazz Remix)

And here we are with yours truly remixing the man himself, I personally love the work that Coflo & Lady C put in together and I’m honoured to have been asked to be a part of Coflo’s musical history with my remix of their brilliant ‘Easy’

Whoops! What have you done Ocha Records?

What they did wrong: As much as I want to… in fact, nope, can’t even finish my sentence.

The Atjazz remix of Coflo & Lady C ‘Easy’ is available to buy/stream from December 2nd here.
