Last summer, the electronic music community shed a tear 50 Weapons – the label founded by Modeselektor duo, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary – as the pairing announced the imprints closure in a video posted via Facebook with the message “R.I.P. 50WEAPONS – A Record Label from Berlin 2005 – 2015”.
The clip reeled through artwork spanning 10 years of operation, showcasing just how influential the label has been throughout its time. Records from Marcel Dettmann, Addison Groove, Shed, Bambounou, Benjamin Damage and Cosmin TRG feature amongst others.
Data Transmission will be bidding a fond farewell to 50Weapons this weekend November 13th, when the label lands in Manchester for the final time as it takes over The Warehouse Project with performances from Siriusmodeselektor – Gernot and Szary’s new project with Siriusmo – Clark, Rødhåd, Shed, James Zabiela, Cosmic TRG, Doc Daneeka, Benjamin Damage and Addison Groove.
Thanks for all the fantastic music over the years guys; we can’t wait to see what’s next!
