Sarah Story, Goldierocks, Arielle Free join Little Pink Book’s IWD Empowerment Evening

Music consultancy and women’s collective little pink book is hosting an empowerment evening. Taking place on Thursday 5th March in honour of International Women’s Day with IO Project & OTO CBD.

Kicking off with an inspirational panel talk on ‘The Importance of Female Role Models in Electronic Music’ with some of the industry’s leading ladies. Hosted by DJ and Capital FM presenter Sarah Story with panellists Goldierocks, Arielle Free, Barely Legal, Sophie Bloggs (YM&U Management) and Reju Sharma (Armada Music).

Following the panel, join Goldierocks and her IO Project for a guided sound meditation. This will help you restore balance, help you relax and re-connect. The antidote to apathy. For adults who’ve forgotten how to play.

Roberta Hickey (founder of little pink book) “It’s really important to shine a light on amazing women in the industry. Give them a platform to chat about their experiences and offer advice. It’s as important as ever to women to support and empower each other. Also inspire young women to follow in their paths

Goldierocks (founder of IO Project) “I’m so glad we’re representing both sides of the coin with this IWD celebration. Actively driving change, discussing our challenges as a community but focusing on solutions. Electronic music is all about bringing people together. That’s why it just doesn’t make sense that festival line ups in the UK aren’t anywhere near the 50/50 gender balance. The female specialist broadcaster are vastly outnumbered on air by men & that female DJ & industry bods are (as a whole) not getting paid the same as their male piers. Come along- get revved up, get inspired by some of the successful and innovative women we have on the panel and get doing!

I’m also delighted we’re acknowledging that no one can achieve greatness in the face of burn out. And that part of success, of career longevity, hell- of happiness! Is learning to take care of yourself. To reconnect so you stay sparky, creative.. playful. My new venture IO Project will be leading a sound meditation (aka gong bath) to help restore balance. Great for people that struggle to meditate.. it’ll help you relax feeling empowered and connected. We’ll also be incorporating my secret weapon to being able to handle stress in the form of OTO CBD cocktails and oils.. for added zen.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
