Share

Subwork is back with their next release, featuring label founder Tenz and an eagerly awaited collection of ‘Blacktop Jungle Remixes’.

Drawing strong influences from jungle, drum & bass, footwork and breaks, this next chapter in Tenz’s journey brings together remixes from both established producers and newcomers alike, featuring the incredible Octo Pi, SilverBak, Rez and Hungry Man!

Octo Pi, originally from Swansea and now residing in Bristol, has released music on some of the biggest labels in Drum and Bass including Viper Recordings, Drum & Bass Arena, Jungle Cakes and V Recordings. His appearance on D&B TV after winning the Drum & Bass Arena Competition for Remixing DJ Fresh’s ‘Gold Dust’ kick-started his journey into Drum & Bass, and led to him featuring on René LaVice‘s Radio 1 show and performing at festivals and venues around the world.

SilverBak aka one half of RogueOne is a Welsh DJ and producer who returns to Subwork after his first release on the label last year with the incredible RogueOne, ‘Hold My Soul’ EP. Silverbak is no stranger to the drum & bass scene having played across the UK at some of the best club nights and festivals whilst building a catalogue of releases which includes his 2019 EP as RogueOne in collaboration with Octo Pi and Stitch on Innovate Audio.

Rez hails from Herefordshire but now resides in Bristol where he holds a residency at Bris-Tek which is one of Bristol’s leading lights in the southwest drum and bass scene. This summer has seen him perform across the country at some of the UK’s best music festivals including Boomtown, Nozstock and Nass Festival. His recent collaboration with exciting Drum & Bass producer and rising star Jenks has led him to rack up a No.1 in the Juno drum & bass charts followed by reaching No.1 across all genres!

Hungry Man has had plays on BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio3 and Kane FM. He’s delivered exclusive mixes for The British Council’s Selector radio show and 3000 Bass. He has collaborated with No.1 charting Sam & The Womp, Crystal Fighters, Aaron Horn, Shura and more. His latest track ‘Lookin Fly’ (Ft. Sam Richie) reached the No.1 spot on Juno’s Bass chart! A veteran of the UK’s festival and party scene, Hungry Man has rocked music events worldwide from London bass raves to Alpine snowboard contests and Rasputin’s St.Petersburg Palace. Festival appearances include Wilderness, Boomtown Fair, Glastonbury, Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Reggae Sun Ska and Electric Picnic.

All four of these producers deliver remixes aimed directly at the dance floor, providing 4 club-ready bangers to bring the heat! Octo Pi does not disappoint with his consistent, precise, killer style stamped firmly on the heavyweight original. SilverBak opts for a deep, heavy, jungle-influenced interpretation, bringing his own on-point production style and delivery. Rez provides an up-to-date take on the original offering up the heat with huge bass lines and crunching DnB Beats! Hungry Man drops the tempo to 130bpm and gives us a healthy dose of breaks, bass and beats.

Today we premiere Octo Pi’s remix of ‘Blacktop Jungle’ which you can check out below. The ‘Blacktop Jungle Remixes’ EP lands via Subwork on Friday 9th December, make sure you grab yourself a copy from here!
