Sust drops his ‘Inside My Head’ EP
Sust discovered jungle music in 1992 and was instantly hooked. He moved to London in ’94 which meant he was fully integrated into the scene. He regularly attended all the hot nights: AWOL, Innersense, Labyrinth, Blue Note and Telepathy amongst them. He also had a lot of fun DJing at outdoor free parties across the South and in Hackney warehouse raves.
Fast forward to this decade when Sust decided to give production a shot. He first secured releases on Physmatics before being signed to Locked Up Music. His first EP on Locked Up with collaborator Isbe was received with critical acclaim. Now comes the second instalment ‘Inside My Head’ a four track EP which is a journey into darkness, innovation and deep soundscapes. It’s already receiving support from across the scene. This EP shows his ability to blend darkness and light effortlessly.
‘My Head’ is rolling and funky with exquisite drums. ‘Darkness’ is exactly that. Its intricately programmed drums and pounding subs hark back to early Metalheadz rhythms. ‘Legit’ lightens the mood of the EP, yet Sust’s engineering skills means that the dancefloor is never too far away from his mind. Our premiere ‘Guide Me’ is the hidden gem, with a vocal sample that adds so much flavour to an already perfect groove.
