Smuskind drop their ‘Fractale’ EP on Drum Army
Share
It is no secret that the musician duo Smuskind from the Ruhr Area has been one of Drum Army‘s closest and most important artists since the foundation of the label. Despite their close and familiar work, however, they have never had their very own EP release with them – but this changes after a year of planning with their ‘Fractale’ EP.
The EP is just as diverse, detailed and playful as you would expect from a Smuskind release. It starts with melodic and melancholic sonics, then turns into more dark and technical sounds and finishes in an experimental and playful way. The dramaturgy of the EP is simply as complex as a fractale. It breaks norms and is at the same time an articulated construct that hits the zeitgeist of contemporary Drum & Bass on the point.

With Drum & Bass and Dubstep ruling the dancefloors and calling the masses not only onto those dancefloors but into the DJ booths, Smuskind, have followed this call. In a short period of time, Jonas and Orga have evolved to become one of the most sought after artists in the German bass music scene. Their immense creative output ranges from trap to dubstep and to drum&bass. Smuskind have played their versatile DJ sets alongside acts such as Noisia, QZB, BSE and Zeds Dead, while they spend time in the studio collaborating with Culprate, Invadhertz, Seibel or Nemy.
Today we premiere ‘Move On’ which you can check out below. The ‘Fractale’ EP lands on Drum Army on 14th May on all digital stores. Make sure you get your hands on a copy when it drops using the purchase button beneath the player.
