Shogun launches new series: Shogun Origins

If you’ve been following Shogun Audio for a while you will no doubt be familiar with their outstanding series of various artist albums; Point Of Origin. Since 2015 this series has become the springboard for catapulting the careers of some of today’s most well-known artists, with names such as Voltage, GLXY and Sustance, to name but a mere few, it’s crystal clear that Shogun’s A&R team know how to spot emerging talent.

The ‘Point of Origin’ albums are proof that Shogun Audio invests in new artists, but they’ve recently decided that they wanted to do more to elevate these up and comers and get them all the attention they deserve. Enter a new series; Shogun Origins.

Rather than showcasing artists on various artist albums with Shogun Origins, the imprint has decided to move to individual singles which will mean each track and artist will get dedicated time to shine. We caught up with Shogun Audio’s label manager to find out a little more.

“Shogun Origins is an extension of our sister label SGN:LTD and our critically acclaimed ‘Point Of Origin’ Various Artist release series. Alongside working with our roster acts, new talent discovery and artist development have always been incredibly important to us, from our SGN:LTD sister label providing a platform for the likes of Icicle, SpectraSoul and Monrroe before they eventually moved on to Shogun, to the four volumes of our ‘Point Of Origin’ compilations which have all gone on to be the number 1 release on Beatport for Drum & Bass since the launch of the series in 2015. In the current landscape of the music industry, Shogun Origins feels like a natural progression for our desire to bring through new acts in the scene and is something that we’re all incredibly excited about at the label.”

Here at Data Transmission, we pride ourselves on shining a spotlight on new talent so each month we will be teaming up with Shogun Origins and delivering you a brand new and 100% exclusive mix from one of their artists. Get ready to devour some of the freshest new music Drum & Bass has to offer!
