Charlie Sorrell aka Solaris is an up and coming Jungle and Drum & Bass DJ, currently based in Norwich. She’s a resident DJ on Bloc2Bloc Entertainment Radio, and rolls out weekly live streams every Tuesday 7-8pm. Solaris has been heavily inspired by labels such as Critical Music and Deep in the Jungle Records, her mixes tend to be on the darker side of Drum & Bass, whilst mixing it up with some feel-good ragga and old school jungle.
She first began mixing in 2014, starting out on the Drum & Bass scene in Birmingham. She then experimented and performed across multi-genres including trance, piano house and oldschool breaks, before venturing back round to her roots in Drum & Bass.
Before lockdown she was regularly playing between events in Norwich, bi-monthly at Junglist Run Come, Birmingham and up in Manchester with Bloc2Bloc. She also participated in the Let It Roll DJ competition in the Czech Republic in 2019. Throughout lockdown she has kept busy performing live guest mixes on Rough Tempo, Skankout, Phase Records, Fully Charged and more. You can catch her back in Birmingham in July for Junglists Run Come The Return.
We expect a lot more gigs to be announced over the coming months as we slowly get back to “normality”, whatever that is! But for now, we are really happy to announce the addition of Solaris to our popular Renegade Riddims series. This is a wicked mix with a great selection of tracks from A.M.C, Conrad Subs, Kyrist, T>I, Harriet Jaxxon, Aries, Particle and loads more!
