Renegade Riddims: Siva Gold

Bristol-based DJ and ARIA-nominated radio presenter Siva Gold has been immersed in Drum & Bass for over three decades, and it shows.

Growing up tuned into pirate stations in the 90s, Siva’s love for the music runs deep. She went on to study music and dance at university, learning to DJ before carving out a successful career in radio broadcasting. The result is a presenter who knows the culture from the inside out.

Her weekly show ‘Additions To My Collection’ blends fresh Drum & Bass with genre-defining classics, and has quickly built a loyal following. Recent guests include Sigma, Natty Lou, Krust and Vikter Duplaix. The show has also earned Siva a ‘Best New Presenter’ nomination at the ARIAs, the BAFTAs of radio.

On the decks, she holds a residency with Full Cycle and is a fixture in Bristol’s vibrant Drum & Bass scene. Her reputation for exceptional tune selection, balancing new releases with legacy tracks, has taken her to legendary venues in Ibiza and Amsterdam over the past year.

Full Cycle founder and Drum & Bass pioneer Roni Size puts it simply: “Siva instinctively knows how to curate sets that fill dance floors and radio shows that build loyal followings.”

2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year. Confirmed dates include nights with Full Cycle at Night Tales in London, RUN All Day in Bristol and V Recordings, alongside a run of festival bookings. A debut EP is also on the way, along with the launch of her own night, Clubb.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

I present a weekly radio show, ‘Additions To My Collection’ so I’m lucky enough to hear the incredible new releases coming out each week. The show features mostly drum & bass with a sprinkling of 140 and house – if it’s a good tune and I’ve added it to my collection, it’s getting played!

When I was invited to do a Renegade Riddims mix, I wanted to have some fun showcasing the variety of great bass music released this year and the wide influence drum & bass has. Like including the 140 remixes from Bawler of Serum’s ‘Chop House’ and from Cesco of Shy FX’s ‘Say Less’. There’s also a brilliant riddim remix of Clipz and Ms Dynamite’s classic ‘Again’ and Dreadnaught’s incredible treatment of Wiley’s big grime tune ‘Step 20’. But you’ll see – everything has a link to drum & bass.

What have you got coming up?

Hosting my weekly radio show ‘Additions To My Collection’ on Saturdays 12 – 2pm on BCFM. And I’m excited to reveal that I’ve been nominated for an ARIA for ‘Best New Presenter’ – the BAFTAs of radio. I’m currently getting ready for the glittering awards night at The Roundhouse at the end of May.

Gig-wise, I’m continuing to play at the monthly residency with Full Cycle at The Star & Garter in Bristol. On Friday 10th July, we’re heading up to Night Tales in London. There I’ll be playing with Roni Size also on the line up.

In September, I’m playing my biggest stage yet – I’ve been invited to play at the RUN All Day Summer Party at Sawmills, celebrating 21 years of the legendary Bristol night. I’m on the V Stage alongside legends including Bryan Gee, Sl8r, Jumpin Jack Frost and Dazee.

When was the last time you actually raved?

4/20 in Bristol. It’s an annual event on the 20th April that started in California in the 1970s, celebrating cannabis culture. But now in Bristol it’s become a day where the sound systems come out and there are impromptu raves everywhere! Everyone from the big promoters to small DIY outfits set up. And you can expect to see every DJ – from the big names to up-and-coming artists. 

Last year, Castle Park – the main park in the city centre, saw 40 sound systems go up. This year the police were more clued up and shut lots down – but this is Bristol. After a fun day chasing the party around the city sharing updates on the secret locations before getting shut down again, the clubs eventually opened up and let the sound systems in. Suddenly at 8 pm on a Monday night I was front row at Lost Horizon watching Dazee & Roni Size doing a back-to-back with Jakes MCing and Nicky Blackmarket waiting in the wings.
