Renegade Riddims: Murdock

Share

Murdock has been behind the decks for more than 20 years and in that time has gone from throwing small parties to smashing every major festival several times over. He ran a weekly show on national radio Studio Brussel in Belgium for 15 years and went from releasing mix CDs (Jungle Fever, Off The Radar) to building his own record labels and back catalogue. Radar Records is now going strong and Rampage Recordings was recently added to the fold. This year will see Murdock release music on Hospital Records and Viper Recordings again, as well as on North-American juggernaut Monstercat and legendary UK label Metalheadz. His forthcoming album for Viper Recordings will include contributions by Roni Size, Total Science and MC Dynamite.

He has also been extremely busy building the Rampage brand, which is now the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party in the world! They sell 30,000 tickets for their weekend edition, at which Murdock himself is one of the main attractions. As with previous years, this year’s outing has already sold out! With this in mind, he recently added the brand’s first summer festival to the list of big events he has built, Rampage Open Air will launch in July 2019, with 20,000 visitors expected.

Murdock has played thousands of gigs all over the world and with just about every other DnB DJ on the planet, during his career. He easily switches between different styles of drum&bass and other electronic music, and he knows how to engage an audience like no other. He’s always eager to take people on a journey through the full spectrum, including neuro, liquid and jump up and pampering them with dubplates as well as classics.

Fresh off the back of his appearance at XOYO last Friday with Andy C and with Rampage Weekend coming up fast it seemed only fitting to get the man behind the monster weekend on our mix series! Prepare yourself for some exclusive bits and one hell of a killer mix!
