Renegade Riddims: flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout

Based in Toronto, flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout are a live Drum & Bass act who are quickly on the rise – with Tyr Kohout smashing the decks and flowanastasia weaving her voice through a mix of original tunes and other favourites.

Individually, flowanastasia has been a Drum & Bass vocalist for almost 10 years, with releases on top labels including RAM, Critical, Viper, Shogun, and Liquicity. She’s also the host of a video podcast called “Flow With The Show” and helps run marketing at Toronto music label Deviant Audio, founded by STRANJAH.

Tyr Kohout is a producer and DJ with releases on numerous labels including Hospital Records, Flight Pattern, and Deviant Audio. He has also had features on BBC Radio 1, DNBArena and Skankandbass. Tyr has been the vocal engineer for all of flowanastasia’s Drum & Bass recordings since 2017. With a devotion to forward-thinking Drum & Bass, Tyr has been sharpening his prowess in sound design since 2012, and is regarded by peers as a “scientist of sound”.

Together, they’ve been collaborating on music since 2017 and performing live since 2019, taking dancefloors and internet video streams on a journey through sound. From soulful Drum & Bass to gritty Halfstep and Neurofunk, flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout deliver vibes and bangers from the entire bass music spectrum!

Today, these two powerhouses join us on our Renegade Riddims mix series with a live mix which has been especially recorded for us all to enjoy. flowanastasia’s beautiful, sultry tones are encapsulating and the track selection suits her voice completely! It’s a truly wonderful mix and I’ve personally had it on repeat today.
