Renegade Riddims: DJ Steady
Share
DJ Steady, a 10-year-old DJ from Milton Keynes, is quickly making waves in the electronic music scene with her unique blend of Drum & Bass and House. Her love for rhythm and beats sparked her journey, and now, with a focused drive, she’s building a solid reputation for delivering high-energy, unforgettable sets.
Recently signed to the DJ Archie Agency, Steady has been turning heads. She made it to the finals of the Mix Master DJ Competition at Boxpark Wembley in November 2024, going up against a bunch of talented DJs. She’s also shared the stage with big names like Dope Ammo and played at venues like Unit Nine.
And the best part? 2025 is shaping up to be huge for her. She’s set to support Nicky Blackmarket and perform at iconic venues like Ministry of Sound. DJ Steady is proving that age is just a number, and she’s showing the world what young talent can do in the dance music scene.
I’m super excited to bring Steady to our Renegade Riddims series, which is all about discovering fresh new talent – and you can’t get fresher than Steady! I first came across her last summer at an Open Decks event at Unit Nine, where she played a killer House set. After chatting with her parents, I found out she’s also into Drum & Bass and getting taught by Will Hardisty, the head honcho at On The Decks (OTD), a collective we’ve been supporting for years now. They’ve got some seriously talented artists in their crew.
I can’t wait to watch DJ Steady’s journey unfold – she’s definitely got an exciting future ahead!
Her mix features music from artists such as Corrupted Minds, Deekline, Original Sin, Ray Keith, Phibes, Euphonique & DJ Dazee, Arkaik, Congo Natty, Gyrda, Conrad Subs and loads more!

Q&A:
Sum up this mix in 10 words…
This mix is energetic and bouncy to make you smile.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Zoro, Addicted ‘Badness’ – I love the way it mixes strong beats with the Sax, I love funk and soul so this to me blends those two worlds perfectly. It’s one of those tracks that just makes me instantly smile.
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
I’ve selected all the tracks for this mix either because I have been raised on them and they have influenced who I am today, or they are tracks that I have enjoyed working with since I started 10 months ago. I’ve tried to include some old-school tracks and incorporated soulful instruments like the flute and sax to complete those big drum beats. Blending classics, and giving my own modern-day twist, keeping the energy flowing.
Tell us about your next release…
I am starting production lessons with Liam Deegan (AKA Deegz) at the OTD Studios, after working on my previous track ‘Let it Go’ I am keen to start work on an upbeat Jungle track which is centred around the fact that it’s ok to be different.
What have you got coming up?
2025 is shaping up as a great year so far, I am supporting Nicky Blackmarket this coming April, and am also booked for Ravertots – Ministry of Sound London, and opening my first festival. I am also working with the Bass Bratz on an all-female line-up 360 event at Unit Nine. You’ll hear a few guest mixes from me across the year including mixes with the Ultra Vegas family, and I’ll be streaming from Rough Tempo and the Buckle Bunker as part of the Raving for a Reason events. July will be my first international booking when I’m off to Ibiza to support a well-known brand in their campaign – I can’t tell you any more than that just now, but it’s going to be special!
When was the last time you actually raved?
I managed to have a dance with my friends before my set at Raver Tots last year, but being only 10 I don’t get that many opportunities to rave. My Mum and Dad take me to festivals like Hidden and In it Together where I get to dance and watch some amazing artists.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Don’t give up on your dreams! A lot of people didn’t take me seriously until I got them to listen to my mixes or see me play because I am so young – a real ‘you have to see it to believe it’ type thing. It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you love what you do and you have passion then go for it and believe in yourself. You are never too young or too old to start something new. Use every opportunity to learn, ask for feedback, and then grow from it….. most importantly do it because it makes you happy!
