Renegade Riddims: DEBRIEF

From the get-go, the electronic music scene has ignited DEBRIEF‘s passion for music in a number of different ways. Whether it was listening to Noisia’s album ‘Split The Atom’ on the school bus, to seeing Amoss live on a huge sound system at the Black Swan in Bristol, Drum & Bass will always have a special place in his heart…

Fast forward to the current day and DEBRIEF is still producing as often, if not more, than ever before. His production skills are ever-evolving and improving and his journey as a producer has only just begun. He has been mixing for as long as he has been producing so the 2 have been going hand in hand for some time. He believes his strengths lie in understanding in-depth production skills and techniques, DJ-ing (be it at home or in a booth), and he has a good knowledge of all the stages an artist has to go through before they get their material out to the public market (which I often find is sorely overlooked by some artists).

DEBRIEF has, to date, released music on Wobble & Bass Audio (where he is one of their resident artists) and Renaissance UK, but I’m told there’s a lot more in the pipeline!

Growing up in the Southwest of the United Kingdom, his style has definitely had a lot of influence from the undeniable Bristol sound – dark, rolling and minimal goodness! Although he operates in a certain style he always tries to get a little bit of everything in his mixes, from liquid to jump up and everything in between.

Now it’s time for DEBRIEF to join our Renegade Riddims series with a brand spanking new mix which includes music from the likes of Break, Total Science, DLR, Koven, Data 3, Noisia, Kasra and loads more! There’s even a couple of his own tracks thrown in for good measure!
