Renegade Riddims: Caim

Having previously premiered his single ‘Hold My Breath’ on DT DNB in April 2020, we’re pleased to bring Caim forward and shine a light on him with an exclusive Renegade Riddims mix!

The selection of tracks Caim has carefully selected consist of some his favourite tunes. There’s also some unreleased dub-plates from his friends, as well as several of his own tracks.

Caim aka Vitalii Prokopenko is a young and talented producer from the cold capital of Russian Drum & Bass, St. Petersburg. He has had a keen interest in music since early childhood. His first musical passion was for alternative rock bands like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and Korn. In 2003 he fell in love with Drum & Bass after hearing ‘Original Nuttah’ for the first time. He has a unique method for writing music, which works well for him, preferring to make tracks from scratch, each time he tries new approaches to working with different sounds.

Caim prefers a deep and melancholic sound. During his small but productive career, he has managed to release several sensational singles on Russia’s leading Drum & Bass label, Live History Records. His work receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, including from the main stage names and trailblazers. And at the moment, Caim is negotiating with some of Europes leading Drum & Bass labels.

Now, this producer is experiencing a creative peak, and is ready to “go headlong” into production in the upcoming quarantine period. He intends to move exclusively forward! As a DJ, Caim this year began to take an active part in major Drum & Bass parties in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
