Drum & Bass legend BCee’s 8th studio album, ‘These Are The Days,’ landed on 11th October, marking another huge chapter in his 23-year journey in Drum & Bass. Known for the authenticity and soul he pours into every beat and every lineup, BCee ensures nothing carries his stamp of approval unless it has his full belief. This album is no exception, showcasing uplifting liquid and jungle sounds, with heartfelt, soulful vocals over 13 powerful tracks.
“I wanted to explore songwriting and drum & bass in a way I hadn’t done before. Something new compared to my previous albums is that every single one of the tracks is a full vocal song collaborating with different vocalists throughout. The title ‘These Are The Days’ reflects a duality: celebrating the good times while recognizing that these are the only days we get. Whether you’re enjoying life or facing tough times, it’s about seizing the moment and making the most of it.” – BCee
The title track, ‘These Are The Days,’ featuring Zara Kershaw, really captures the heart of the album, delivering an anthem that’s both powerful and reflective. BCee explains, “When I decided to do an all vocal album Zara Kershaw was someone that I felt was essential to get involved. She’s such a great writer and vocalist and always brings something that I couldn’t hear myself. She fully embraced the theme and absolutely nailed the spirit of the project. An absolute pleasure to work with“.
To celebrate, BCee threw an album release party earlier this month at Signature Brew in London. On the night, he played the album in full, broke down each track, and hosted a live Q&A. Plus, guests got a free beer on entry and a chance to meet BCee. If you didn’t go, then I’m sorry to say…you missed out on a great evening!
As the founder of Spearhead Records, BCee’s been an essential voice in Drum & Bass culture, introducing artists like Hybrid Minds, Netsky, LSB, and Alix Perez, and curating line-ups that honour the music and community. Underground drum & bass will never die. Well, not yet anyway. Maybe one day. All things have a season. Not yet though.
