Portrait returns to 170+ Recordings with ‘Smile / Your Worth’

After his track ‘Blunt Rolls’ received a lot of praise on the ‘BC Flood Relief’ LP, 170+ Recordings welcome back Manchester-based Portrait to the label with his standout single ‘Smile / Your Worth’.

‘Smile’ starts us off with his signature skippy drums, attention to detail in his percussive elements builds the tension of what’s to come. A chordal shift in the once familiar vocal leads to a pause before the release of the vibrant drop. We are greeted with a bassline that is rich and textured and feels as if you could reach out and touch it. An authentic piece of art here.

On the flip, we have ‘Your Worth’ which holds equal weight, and is quick to drop as the bouncy low-end carries us to a lengthy breakdown which is beyond words. An emotional reset that sends shivers down the spine. Pure bliss from start to finish.

Portrait is sure to leave his mark on the scene, with a plethora of unreleased music and distinctive style which accompanies years of craftsmanship.
