Nurve drops his monster new EP ‘Metamorph’
Nurve returns to his self-titled imprint Nurve Music for another 3 track ‘Metamorph’ EP. Most commonly known for his work in grime as part of Macabre Unit and in dubstep as Demon, he has recently returned to his roots in Jungle and Drum & Bass. With two EP’s already under his belt in the last 6 months on his own imprint I think it’s safe to say this move has been well received by the scene. The ‘Metamorph’ EP which drops on 28th February is slightly different to most where Nurve doesn’t just stick to D&B, but lets us see his dubstep side too, which will be an education to some.
With the EP title track and our premiere, ‘Metamorph’, Nurve channels his inner techy side of Drum & Bass. Tightly programmed drums and signature mid-range basses poking in and out of the rhythm section makes this track one for the ravers.
Next, we move onto ‘I Don’t Mind’, and to be fair, neither do we. This one has a lot more of an industrial sound about it and really shows Nurve’s versatility as an artist. The deep, dark droning bass mixed with ravey, techy stabs and heavy drums give this one a really early 00’s feel.
And last but not least, we have ‘Tell The Enemy’. Now this one takes Nurve back to the 140 realms where he channels his old friend and very well known moniker, Demon. I will leave you to figure out the rest.
