Mako’s Mastery Shines in His Latest Solo Album ‘Oeuvre – Part 2’

For over ten years, Mako has carved out a unique space in both his personal and musical journey, and Metalheadz has proudly showcased his talent along the way. This September, the label is excited to release his third album with them, and his second solo project, ‘Oeuvre – Part 2’, which seamlessly continues the path set by his earlier work. His 2020 album, ‘Oeuvre’, was the result of years of dedication and refined production, securing Mako’s respected place within the Metalheadz family.

Now, four years later, Metalheadz is thrilled to present ‘Oeuvre – Part 2’. This 12-track album is not only a celebration of Mako’s deep passion for music but also reflects his sometimes disillusioned views on a modern world that often seems to move too fast. In an age where individuality can easily get lost in the flood of content, Mako’s outstanding production stands out, demanding attention and encouraging listeners to actively engage with his work.

The album highlights Mako’s strong ties to his musical community, with long-time collaborators such as Fields, Hydro, Villem, and Mikal contributing their unique expertise. It also features a special collaboration with the late Marcus Intalex, a friendship that blossomed in the years before Marcus’ untimely passing, and one that continues to inspire new music.

As listeners delve into the album, Mako’s strengths as a producer become apparent: from the captivating vocals in ‘Feed You’, the slick homage to techstep in ‘Suspension’, to the dancefloor-driven energy of ‘Direct Source’, a track long favoured by Goldie. Mako also delivers deeper, more introspective moments, such as the album’s opener ‘True Expression’ and the graceful melodies of ‘Overshare’.
