Locknar self-releases ‘Bad Science’
Locknar is a multifaceted artist, with the US-based producer stretching his talents across a variety of projects, most recently creating the album soundtrack for top selling game ‘Madness: Project Nexus’. And in its wake, he is set to unleash even more music, although for a self-release project which signals a new direction. With a style heavily influenced by gaming, something seen through a decorated back catalogue, his love for old-school rave sounds, sci-fi and modern iterations of dubstep and electro has formed the perfect foundation for his next single. Whilst he’s looking to set his sights even further into a different domain with the next chapter he’s embarking on, his signature still streams through his forthcoming release and it shows his ingenuity, as well as the complexity of his engineering. This time moulded expertly for the dancefloor.
But Drum & Bass is not a strange arena for Locknar; his upcoming record ‘Bad Science’ sees him fit back into the genre, a speaker stack destroyer that’s as catchy as it is dirty. Locknar’s gritty sub-bass growls steal the show, but his ability to augment his arrangements with interesting accompaniments is the secret sauce. It pays homage to the Drum & Bass signatures whilst also injecting it with his own no-holds-barred approach to music making, presenting a methodical touch that’s second to none. He makes his mark on the wider circuit through ‘Bad Science’ and is sure to expose his music to an even wider audience.
Striking out as an independent artist he’s continuing to push boundaries, something reflected in his release schedule. Also including a remix package, there’s more to come from Locknar as he kickstarts the club season with this explosive new single.
