Jomari drops his ‘Cycles’ EP on Deviant Audio
Toronto based independent Deviant Audio returns with another hometown hero. Jomari drops his ‘Cycles’ EP – the emergent beat making talent’s debut extended player offering.
Garnering acclaim from the jump, Jomari’s premiere issuance ‘Open Air’ – released as part of Deviant’s heavily supported compilation LP ‘Deviations’ – earned the Canadian studio smith a glowing review from underground dance music’s DJ Mag. Contributions to imprints last Planet Records and Lickwood & Gunshot have steadily raised the ambitious producer’s profile this past calendar year.
Traversing across the creative space of Canada’s cultural hub as a Canadian born Filipino music maker, Jomari’s unique artistic perspective is wonderfully reflected in the ascendant producer’s studio work. The ‘Cycles’ EP is no exception.
Showcasing a production palette as diverse as the city he calls home, Jomari exhibits a varying array of beat constructs that will entice selectors in earnest. From the deep and brooding basslines of peak time stepper ‘Rover’, to the incandescent tones of syncopated soul lick ‘Crossroads’, and the unrelenting sonic pressure of the EP’s title track, the ‘Cycles’ EP encompasses another step forward in Jomari’s musical journey.
Today we premiere ‘Crossroads’ which you can check out below. It’s a really well produced track with a wicked deep bassline and tight crisp drums…perfect Drum & Bass! The ‘Cycles’ EP drops on Deviant Audio on 14th July, make sure you grab yourself a copy form the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
