Javano is set to drop his ‘Juncture’ album

Share

Some artists tease an album. Javano just turns up with one. ‘Juncture’ lands on Peer Pressure Records on 3rd July, and from the first few bars it’s clear this is a London producer who’s done the work and wants you to feel every minute of it.

Javano’s no newcomer chasing a moment. Producing out of Bromley, he’s been a steady presence on the Peer Pressure roster for years, building from EPs and one-off cuts into 2020’s debut album ‘The Drift’, a record that refused to sit in one lane and pulled in techno, dub and Jungle without ever losing its nerve. ‘Juncture’ picks up that same restless thread and pushes it further. Eleven tracks deep, it moves through UK garage swing, dub weight and Drum & Bass snap like he’s flicking through a record bag at 3am and somehow making it all make sense.

This is a record built for movement. The breaks hit fast and sharp, the subs sit low and mean, and there’s always a layer of atmosphere doing quiet work underneath the chaos. It’s the kind of energy that translates everywhere, rooftop sets in the afternoon sun, sweaty basement raves where the ceiling’s dripping, festival fields where the bass hits your chest before your ears. Javano’s always understood that Drum & Bass isn’t just tempo, it’s mood, and ‘Juncture’ has mood for days.

Peer Pressure backing this one tracks. The label’s been championing Javano’s genre hopping for years, and ‘Juncture’ feels like the moment all that faith pays off. We’ve premiered his work before; his ‘Concrete’ cut got the DT treatment back in the day, and it’s good to see him still pushing forward rather than coasting on past plays.

Junglists, clear your week. ‘Juncture’ is the sound of an artist fully in his stride, and it deserves to be heard loud, on a big rig, with people who get it.
