Jack South debuts on LockedUp with ‘Interference’ EP

Share

Locked Up Music are excited to welcome Jack South to the team with his ‘Interference’ EP. Jack has been DJing for many years between Brighton and London and on the legendary Life FM with long-time sparring partner, Johnny 5 on their fortnightly show Rum & Bass. Jack has been honing his craft over the last few years ensuring that each release is true to his passion for the dark and minimal, and this EP is just that.

‘The Raider’ builds with dark atmospheres and broken beats to a monstrous synth lead breakdown. The track progresses with chopped breaks, stabs and eerie hits toward an explosive second drop. ‘Salt In The Wound’ sees Jack team up with label boss Section and recent Metalheadz signing Inner Terrain. The spoken word intro provides the perfect vibe for this deep, intricate track, which once again builds with distorted bass elements and Jack’s trademark chopped beats. ‘The Mist’ is a stepper and one for the head nodders. Jack’s hypnotic drums and fluid bassline will be sure to get the dancefloor bubbling. ‘Princes Gate’ completes this outstanding EP and is deep, aggressive and tribal throughout its 8 minutes. In keeping with the rest of the EP, the track progresses with subtle precision using many elements to provide movement and depth. Awesome!
