Ink, Loxy & Resound drop new music on Razors Edge
A post-millennium anthem in ‘Headz Roll’ gets the remix treatment from what has got to be one of the most dangerous-looking quartets in Drum & Bass history. The result is an uncompromising and refreshing twist on an already much-recognised sound. On the flip, we are exposed to the gritty energy of ‘Think’ by Ink, Loxy & Resound. As a trio they’ve been making waves and gathering momentum on their own imprint I.L.R. Studios in recent times.
The year is 1990 and a young DJ Ink has solidified his love for the culture known as hip hop. As the years move on, so does UK street music. There are new genres forming and Ink begins to hear what is familiar to him, but there is a new twist. It is the UK passing by the USA, with a huge dose of African and Jamaican influence. This is music to a budding DJ Ink‘s ears. He naturally becomes involved and it doesn’t take too long before he begins to make his mark.
Loxy began raving in 89/90 at events like Telepathy and just fell for the culture. He decided to become a part of the movement and perfected his craft soon after. Being from a B-Boy background, Loxy wasn’t totally alien getting into the vibe of this new scene. It was then known as acid house and soon it would become what we know and love as Drum & Bass.
Resound (also known as Rhytual) is a producer and DJ that never fails to deliver. Many groundbreaking releases on many seminal labels have cemented his stance as one of the most forward-thinking artists in the scene. He first started making a name in the scene in the mid-90’s. By the turn of the millennium, over 80 releases were out on his now legendary label, Rebound.
Today we premiere ‘Think’ by Ink, Loxy & Resound. You can check it out below. The 2 tracks drop via Metalheadz’ Razors Edge label on 23rd April. Make sure you grab a copy for yourself using the purchase link beneath the Soundcloud player!
