FD returns to The North Quarter with ‘A Vision Of Hope’ EP

With deep roots in London’s underground club scene, Freddie Dixon aka FD is an electronic music producer who has never compromised his vision or sound. A deliberate artist, he has spent years honing his craft and his wide-ranging influences have given him an unmistakable, highly detailed sound, allowing him to move comfortably between genres.

With over a decade spent releasing music, FD has built an impressive repertoire on many highly respected record labels. Most recently his acclaimed debut album ‘Better Days’ was released on the esteemed boutique label The North Quarter.

An experienced DJ, his sets are as diverse as his influences and FD knows how to inject the perfect mix of energy and integrity into a singular journey. Digging deep into a wide range of territories old and new, rough and smooth, he continues to play some of the best festivals and venues around the world.

After a breakthrough 2020 which saw FD cement himself as one of the go-to artists for sophisticated bassline science, the Londoner now returns, outdoing himself with ‘A Vision Of Hope’. The veteran Drum & Bass technician once again shows of his range, expertly weaving together Bristol inspired basslines, Jungle breakbeats and R&B melodies. This is music as therapy or both the listener and its creator, this is ‘A Vision Of Hope’.

“Writing this EP was my chance to escape from all of the sadness and pain that 2020 bought us all, in all its myriad ways. Having the chance to be writing music and bury my head in the creative process was an absolute lifeline for me and something that made me feel good and happy and able to pretend for a moment that the bad stuf wasn’t there. I’ve known for a long time that being involved with music makes me happy, but i maybe didn’t realise that i can also use it as a positive force in my life to help work through the hard times too. It helped me keep a vision of hope. I hope this music can now do the same for others too.” – FD

Today we premiere the brilliant ‘Hazmat’ which features the vocal talents of the legendary Fox! With nods to the NHS and the trials and tribulations of COVID the jungle vibes flow through. The entire EP is absolutely phenomenal and was written during the start of the original lockdown.
