Renowned Drum & Bass artist Fanu is back with a musical brew that’s bound to captivate and invigorate listeners. His latest album, ‘Classy Coffee Cuts,’ is a masterful work of sonic artistry that pays homage to the genre’s rich history while pushing boundaries into new and exciting territories.
With over three decades of experience in music production and a DJing career spanning more than twenty years, Fanu is no stranger to the Drum & Bass scene. ‘Classy Coffee Cuts’ showcases his evolution as an artist, blending intricate rhythms and evocative melodies to create a tapestry of sound that is both sophisticated and soul-stirring.
The album consists of 14 tracks, each meticulously crafted to deliver a unique sonic experience.
Fanu made his initial mark in the early 2000s, contributing to influential breakbeat-focused record labels like Subtitles, Commercial Suicide, Offshore, and Subtle Audio. Eventually, he earned a distinguished place within the revered Metalheadz collective, a pivotal influence on his career.
As a DJ, Fanu has extensively toured Europe and the USA, establishing himself as an early supporter of the Finnish Straight Up Breakbeat label. He consistently kept his finger on the pulse of the global breakbeat scene.
Fanu’s musical journey includes noteworthy achievements like remixing tracks by Amon Tobin (not once, but twice) and having his beats featured on a Nine Inch Nails album. Rumours also abound of an upcoming remix for Source Direct and a house music release endorsed by Goldie himself.
When he’s not composing or performing music, Fanu channels his expertise as an internationally acclaimed audio engineer, ensuring top-tier sound quality for others. He’s also a dedicated teacher, sharing his knowledge as Finland’s sole Ableton Certified expert.
Considering that Fanu embarked on this musical journey at the tender age of 12 in the remote corners of his hometown, his accomplishments are truly remarkable.
