After 10 years of releasing Drum & Bass, Des McMahon has crafted a name for himself in the subculture of US Drum & Bass. Now he returns to where it began as Des teams up with long-time label family, Play Me Records, to let loose the ‘Dread & Despair’ EP.

Four tracks of unadulterated dark rolling Drum & Bass. From ‘Red Eyes’ to the title track ‘Dread & Despair’, Des hold’s no punches in unleashing a full palette of dark, harmonic-driven deep cuts.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, steeped in the potent brew of Philly’s wide and deep musical history, powerhouse producer Des McMahon earned his stripes at the forefront of the Washington D.C. electronic music scene. Initiated at landmark venues such as Fur Nightclub, U Street Music Hall and Echostage, Des’ ability to build groove-fueled sounds has made him one of the fastest rising Drum & Bass artists in the U.S.

Simultaneously unleashing excerpts from his own creative character, the sky is the limit for this exceptionally talented musician.

Prioritizing dark and emotive cuts both in the studio and behind the decks, Des’ decade of releases have found their way onto Viper Recordings, Trendkill Records and Insomniac Records alongside consistent support from the likes of Noisia, René LaVice, Break and more.

Today we premiere ‘Red Eyes’ which you can check out below. The ‘Dread & Despair’ EP drops next Friday 15th July on Play Me Records. Bag yourself a copy for your collection from here!
