Skeleton Recordings was formed in 1992 by Monita and has been a seminal part of Jungle / Drum & Bass history. They have released bonafide classics like ‘The Razors Edge’, ‘Luv Ta Luv Ya’ and ‘Smart Kid’.
After a brief hiatus, Monita relaunched the label in 2014 and has since had success with modern Jungle dons Threshold, Madcap, DJ Trax, Jem-One, Ricky Force and Tim Reaper, amongst many others.
Now it’s Dark Ops turn to make their anticipated full release on the label with the ‘Dub Killa’ EP. These tracks have been getting some really good response and surely demonstrates that Skeleton means business!
Dark Ops were formed by Section and Flashback in February 2019 after the success of their ‘Return’ EP on Section’s Locked Up Music imprint. Soon after this release OB1 from Rebel Music saw a clip of their anthemic ‘Jungle Demon’ and signed it right away, which became the title track from the debut EP on Rebel Music.
Despite the restrictions, 2020 had lots of highlights for Dark Ops, with several gigs in London and Brighton, across clubs and radio. 2021 has even more in store with releases on Rebel Music, Locked Up Music and their debut on Skeleton – ‘Dub Killa’ EP.
With the clubs in the UK on the brink of re-opening you can catch Dark Ops at The Castle in East London on August 7thfor Ikon-B’s Format Music as well as their new rotational residencies at The Cause in North London and Lightbox in Vauxhall for Rebel Music.
Today we premiere the title track which you can heck out below. The ‘Dub Killa’ EP dropped on Bandcamp on 5th July and will be available everywhere else soon! Grab a copy from the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
