Blade lands a huge EP on AFT Records
It was over 15 years ago that the liquid pioneer and Good Looking boss LTJ Bukem first heard the sounds of Blade. Since then Bukem’s been playing his music out on a nearly weekly basis. Taking Blade’s blend of Drum & Bass out to crowds upon crowds of fans in countless territories.
Blade has to date released three albums and numerous singles. With labels like Liquid V and Fabio, Marky, Goldie and Bryan Gee supporting his music. Somehow, he still pushes his complex sound that’s as comfortable veering from amen rollers, to soulful flecked, jazz influenced cuts and beyond.
It’s been a busy year for the Drum & Bass stalwart, who’s had huge releases on Fokuz, Vibes ’93 Rhythm Syndicate and ONE7SIX this year alone. Renowned for his chopping breaks and signature grooves on past releases for the legendary Good Looking, Liquid V, Soul Deep and many more AFT Records are extremely excited to announce his debut release on the imprint. Consisting of 4 beautiful musical landscapes to explore, this is ‘Night Terrors’ EP.
‘Data File’ starts us off with an eerie sci-fi vibe coupled with the exquisite breaks Blade has become renowned for. This one will keep you guessing, as subtle elements keep the atmosphere twisting and turning throughout.
Next up is the title track ‘Night Terrors’, with its electro synths rolling throughout and a pumping uplifting bassline that melts together with Blade’s sharp drums for a track that is crying out for a sunshine festival setting.
The third instalment is ‘Meticulous’ which is a very apt name for a subliminal track. It has beautiful melodies and surging bass which create a stampede of vibes. Roller!
Last but not least is our premiere for today. ‘What Am I’ uses mysterious synths and vocal cuts to set the tone here. With some of the fattest drums, bass edits and Amen breaks you’re likely to find. Absolute perfection and right up my Strasse!
