Black Barrel drops ‘Rainfall Down’ EP on Disptach

The ‘Rainfall Down’ EP sees the welcome return of Black Barrel to Dispatch Recordings, with four tracks that represent the deeper, minimal side of the Russian maestro’s musical output. Known for his technical production skills and no stranger to an upfront dancefloor smasher, Black Barrel throws another curve ball with an EP that showcases his musical versatility.

‘I Wanna Go’ starts the EP with smooth liquid warmth, with sub-bass a plenty for this classy roller. ‘Make it Feela’ explores the depths of glitched snares and tweaks. The title track ‘Rainfall Down’ is packed with emotion, melancholy bass meets crisp drum and sparkling harmonics. ‘Please Stop’ completes the EP with its rolling bass warps and his trademark vocal edits.

Another standout release from this prolific producer, that might take some by surprise.

Black Barrel began his journey under the banners of Dispatch, with his first album on the label a defining part of his rise as an artist. The Russian native has since proven his weight. And following a host of EPs and his debut album ‘Last Frontier’ in 2018 and his second album on the imprint ‘Just My Life’ which dropped last year, he has now firmly established himself from newcomer to a frequent part of setlists and lineups across the Drum & Bass genre.

Today we premiere ‘Please Stop’ which you can check out below. The ‘Rainfall Down’ EP dropped via Beatport and Bandcamp on 23rd September and will be available everywhere else on Friday 7th October. Make sure you grab a copy from here!
