Beats In Mind drop ‘Headsbass Vol 2 Pt 2’
Beats In Mind are back with the next instalment of their ‘Headsbass‘ series. Following on from the success of ‘Headsbass Volume 1’, the collective is ready to bring us the next wave.
‘Headsbass’ is a concept acting as a record label and vessel to support DJ’s, clubbers and dance music lovers struggling with all forms of mental health-related issues and concerns. Mental health issues are rife in our generation, with all kinds of pressures, we are seeing people suffer more and more.
Beats In Mind is the brainchild of pyxis, a Drum & Bass producer and publisher who has been actively moving around the scene since the late 1990s. She has been a sidekick to hundreds of Drum & Bass producers for around 20yrs, as a heavily loaded, royalty collecting weapon of great force.
No stranger to the effects of mental health issues herself, after being triggered by a small group and one-to-one conversations, pyxis hasn’t been able to go clubbing or meet with clients, and more importantly attend a simple parents evening. Even going to the supermarket literally reduces her to blackout type symptoms, panic breathing and intense fear. This led her to start Beats In Mind and kick off her concept with the ‘Headbass’ series which aims to drive awareness and raise funds for mental health charities.
The second part brings together another 20 artists to spread the love for mental health charities and increase awareness and support for one another, particularly during these unprecedented times we currently live in. It’s getting harder and harder for people to deal with current affairs and personal battles. This year has so far been relentless at giving each and every one of us new challenges we must face. People need to know that there are resources available to them to help with whatever they might be dealing with, to recognise their triggers and how best they can get through all of this in the best way for them.
This release sees new music from the likes of Embers of Light, Ben Soundscape & SOFi MARi, Raybee, Nemy and Bally & Boom to name a few.
Today we premiere ‘Dream On’ by Bally & Boom. The duo joined forces back in 2016 as a result of a shared passion for Liquid Drum & Bass. The London/Midlands based pair are recognised by their high-paced DJ sets and their liquid and dance floor style production. Their music has been recognised and supported by some of the biggest names in Drum & Bass, including High Contrast and Ray Keith. Bally & Boom have also had their music broadcast on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and regularly on BBC Introducing. The duo are very much at home when it comes to DJing, having performed at BBC Introducing Live, Club MTV, MADE Festival, Weird Science, Formation Records and Hospitality events. They have shared stages with many artists, including Andy C, Dimension, Sub Focus, S.P.Y., Marky, LSB and Etherwood.
