Trading Fours & Anastasia join up on new 2 tracker

Inner City Dance jump into 2020 with their most ambitious project too date, two fresh cuts of accomplished, neo soul inflected Drum & Bass from DJ/Production outfit Trading Fours featuring rising Toronto vocalist Anastasia.

Multi-disciplined and diversely rooted, Trading Fours have explored all aspects of dance music in their DJing and productions, but like many of their Toronto contemporaries, their initial influence has always been rooted in Jungle/DnB. Similarly, for Anastasia, her connection to Trading Fours was cemented by their mutual love of Drum & Bass, sharing their formative years together in their home towns storied scene. In the relatively short time since she has been recording, Anastasia has collaborated with several notable producers resulting in releases on several imprints including Critical, Shogun and Program. These releases have seen demand for her unique vocals grow.

The lead track ‘Five Hour Tealights’ sets a warm and smoky tone from the outset, with syrupy chords and languid riffs dropping into skittering beats and wobbling dubwise providing the framework for Anastasia’s sultry vocals to sit on top with expert precision.

Taking time out of their relentless studio schedules crafting their forthcoming Metalheadz album, longtime friends of ICD, Gremlinz and Jesta get to work on remixing ‘Five Hour Tealights’, which is our premiere for today. Taking the track in a tougher and heavier direction with their heralded production prowess. Razor-sharp Jungle breaks and resonating sub-bass combine with added atmospheric textures, choice vocal sections and the core musical elements of the original to create a fresh and modern interpretation that has already seen heavy dubplate support from Mantra at Rupture and Rene LaVice on Radio 1. This is a must for any jungle DJ’s catalogue!
