Shawn Jackson brings ‘What’s Good’ to Unlearn Records

From Miami to Ibiza, Unlearn Records unveil their latest Various Artists EP, with this latest volume boasting a summer-ready collection of tech house cuts from labels regulars and newcomers alike.
As with the Miami release earlier this year, Unlearn:Ibiza comprises five brand new and exclusive cuts that fall in line with the label’s dancefloor-led ethos, but this time with a White Isle spin. As tech house continues to be the dominant force in Ibiza, you can expect to be hearing these on repeat as the season kicks into gear.
Left Ear Right is an improv jazz guitarist turned tech house producer, and you can undoubtedly hear the chaos of his improv training peak through the four on the floor on each of his tracks. With previous releases on Cuff, Dirtybird, House of Hustle, Future Freaks and a host of other fine labels, ‘Don’t Deny Me’ is pure dancefloor drama, with chunky drums and ecstatic vocals getting Unlearn:Ibiza off to a flier.
Producer, DJ, and Multi-Label Owner: Shawn Jackson has pushed his style of Deeptech and Tech House for three decades and more than 200 releases. Releasing on labels like Daniel Self-made’s Infamous label, Bully Beatz, UFO, Original Label, Wachufleiva and his own Tres14 Music, Minordub and Driven Recordings imprints, Shawn remains one of the most consistent producers and remixers in the game today. Shawn’s cut What’s Good is pure Ibizan fire, with a hypnotic bassline, scything hats and a break of truly epic proportions.
DJ Limbo is a South Korean-born DJ and producer based in Boston, MA. Known for producing tech house music with a rough bassline, minimalistic approach and groove, he made his debut on Hausa Groove with ‘You Say’ last year, and now follows up with his collab with Charlie de Ville, a DJ/Producer from San Diego, California whose music is a fusion of gritty basslines and unforgettable grooves. Their collab Beat Through My Veins is a tribal monster, with pitched-down, chopped vocals providing a complex rhythm and a rolling bassline driving things forward.
Hassio (COL) is a Columbian artist who teams up with RINNO on Ralency. Their track Ralency is a heads-down, dark, deep-tech affair, and one that you can expect to hear blowing up the DC-10 Terrace for months to come.
Completing this explosive collection is label founder Doc Brown, who over the past few years has established Unlearn as one of the most forward-thinking and creatively minded dance labels in the US. He drops Set The Record Straight, an industrial-strength tech house gem with a deliciously patient build and uber-satisfying payoff.
