Sam Sonder keeps it moving with ‘Every Day & Night’

Sam Sonder lands on Under No Illusion this Friday, 4th September, with his five-track ‘Every Day & Night EP’, and we’ve got the premiere of the title track.

‘Every Day & Night’ gets straight to work with bright house grooves, warm chords and those rising moments built to open a floor up. There’s plenty of energy in it, but Sonder keeps things controlled, letting the groove do the heavy lifting rather than throwing everything at the drop.

The rest of the EP shows a nice bit of range too. ‘Livin’ heads deeper with a smooth, bass-heavy roll, while ‘All I Need’ brings skipping drums and an old-school garage flavour. ‘Rundown’ takes things towards Balearic territory with airy atmospherics and little guitar touches, before ‘Slow Burn’ closes things out on a deeper, more emotive house tip.

It’s a solid five-tracker from a producer who clearly understands how to build records for different points in the night, from rooftops and warm-up rooms through to those later, sweatier sessions.
