Resco lands on Sound D’Elite on 7th August with the three-track ‘Dat Funk’ EP, and we’re premiering its tightly wound title cut alongside Chester’s Chris Brooks.
The New York producer has been building steady momentum since ‘Crazy’ broke into the Beatport charts in 2024, picking up support from Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Ilario Alicante, Franky Rizardo and Cloonee along the way. This latest release keeps that progress rooted firmly in the club.
Resco and Chris Brooks’ ‘Dat Funk’ runs on organic percussion, rolling low-end and chopped vocals that sit neatly inside the groove. There is plenty of swing in the drums, but nothing is wasted. It moves with purpose, gradually tightening its grip until the bassline has the room locked.
The wider EP keeps the collaborations moving. Brooks returns for the driving ‘Get Back’, while Max Vitelli and M.O.E join Resco on ‘Dirty Checks’, closing the release with sultry vocals, raw bass pressure and a little extra swagger.
But today belongs to ‘Dat Funk’. A proper peak-time roller for basements, terraces and those sweaty moments when the room finally clicks into place.
