Share

After a short hiatus, Skalator Music unveil their 9th release, “Destroyer E.P.” by Portuguese longstanding musician, producer and DJ Riot.

He started his journey in music as a drummer, his influences lead for a deeper love for electronic music. Founding member of Lisbon’s Jungle / Drum & Bass collective Cooltrain Crew, and together with João Barbosa (Branko), created the globally acclaimed band Buraka Som Sistema, touring worldwide and featured on the 49th Fabric Live album in 2009.

2015 sees Riot joining the Metalheadz strict club releasing “Control of People” with Swedish-born producer Mikal, leading to another collaboration for Mikal’s album “Wilderness”, “Segunda” fusing Drum and Bass sounds with Zouk Bass aesthetics. He’s now working on his first solo album to be released later this year, and collaborating with local and international artists alike, refining is unique production style.

“Destroyer E.P.” unleashes four crafted cuts where we see Riot moving away from the “Zouk Bass” sound, into pure Drum and Bass territory, which we love!  We premiere ‘The Weapon’ today for you!

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
