Share

Local Talk is a Swedish label known globally as a trusted source of true and timeless House music with influence from Funk, Jazz and Soul. Nex up for them is a release from Cuthead who has previously featured as a remix artist, but this time returns with a selection of stunning original tracks.

Many know Cuthead aka Robert Arnold from his seminal releases on much famed German label Uncanny Valley, but his music can also be found on Delusions Of Grandeur, Dirt Crew Recordings and S3A’s label Sampling As An Art Records.

Our Debut Transmission “Potato Express” feels like elevator music on steroids with its ambling trumpets nestled amongst a bunch of sampled live percussion. Open hi-hats and rolling percussion give the track a jazz influence, which is complimented by soothing female vocal phrases, and finished with a rubbery lead synth to create some in your face Muzak.

Check it out below and if you like it Cuthead ‘Fuck That Shit’ EP comes out on Friday 31 March 2017 on Local Talk.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
