PENTHOUSE (US) serve up ‘Lick That’ on GOODSIDE, and it lands on April 17 with plenty of bite.
GOODSIDE welcomes the Columbus duo for their first outing on the label, and it’s a proper late-night tool. Carlos Blancaflor and Rico Gomez have been building nicely out of the Midwest, following chart action with ‘House Call’ and more heat via Tribe Records with ‘On Me’. Now they step into the GOODSIDE camp with a track that knows exactly what it’s here to do.
PENTHOUSE’s ‘Lick That’ is all rolling low-end, sharp tech house drums and a bold vocal that gives it that cheeky, hip-hop-tinted edge. It’s got grit, swagger and just enough attitude to cause a stir when the room is locked in. The bass does the damage, the hook sticks, and the whole thing feels built for sweaty warehouse sessions and those packed rooftop moments when nobody’s heading home early.
With strong early momentum behind them and a sound that pulls from bass house punch and tech house discipline, PENTHOUSE feel like a very tidy fit for GOODSIDE. ‘Lick That’ is playful, direct and made for peak-time mischief.
We’re premiering PENTHOUSE’s ‘Lick That’ on Data Transmission, and you can check it below before grabbing your copy.
