Myth drops ‘Junkyard’ EP on Lockdown Recordings

Lockdown Recordings are a Bristol based label who’ve been grafting to build a roster which stands up against those imprints who were established in the earlier days. Promoting the deeper side of the dance music spectrum, they’ve always adhered to the same paradigm; that’s to offer only forward-thinking, technical and rolling vibes for the heads. Lockdown’s next release comes from man of the moment Myth, who is also known as one half of Ill Truth. Myth has been taking the Drum & Bass scene by storm this year, with a run of huge releases with 31 Records, CIA and Subtitles. Myth is now back on Lockdown with a new 4 track EP, also featuring a remix of Kontrast & Cybin’s liquid jungle roller ‘Lasting Mystic’.

The EP opens with the title track ‘Junkyard’, the vibe of this tune fits the name perfectly. Trademark dark atmospheres and fx build the intro before switching into punchy drum-breaks, sweeping synth stabs and pulsating bass.

Next up is our premiere ‘Raveheart’ which, as the name suggests, is a massive dancefloor track that’s been getting smashed by Teebee on dub since last summer. Rave stabs, pitching Reeses and a huge climactic build-up, drop into tightly edited Amen drums and murderous bass. ‘Raveheart’ is a guaranteed pull-up tune!

‘Illusions’ featured on Myth’s debut EP on Lockdown and the VIP has been doing damage on dub for a while now. Myth has switched up the bass for the VIP, slabs of fizzing sub-bass and pounding 808s are reworked alongside the super-tight stepping drums from the original mix.

Finally, Myth’s remix of Kontrast & Cybin’s ‘Lasting Mystic’ closes out the EP. Atmospheric textures, stretched vocal samples and the old-skool vibes of the original are reworked in Myth’s signature style. Smooth musical vibes that will still go off in the dance.

With a much-anticipated release coming on The North Quarter later this year, Myth is on absolute fire right now and this new EP is definitely not to be missed!
