Mark MacLeod announces his ‘Original Sound of the Universe’ EP

Deep Down Music presents its debut release the ‘Original Sound of the Universe’ EP a three-tracker by Mark MacLeod on Jan. 14, 2022.

The label is a new electronic music label focused on the deeper sides of house, progressive and downtempo. For the first release, label founder Mark MacLeod presents three tracks that sit in the sweet spot between deep house and progressive.

The title track is based on the Hindu symbol Om. Mark sampled this mantra and used it as the foundation of a hypnotic, devotional, slow builder. The second track, Underwater Flight, was inspired by the sounds of nature. The final track, The Low Flow, started out as a sound design session that turned into a deep, dirty, grinding affair in one marathon session.

Mark MacLeod: “It is believed by many that the first sound heard in the universe at the time of the Big Bang was the mantra “Om”. This is a powerful and important mantra in the eastern world. I felt that building a track around the Om mantra would make for a fun and meaningful debut”.Deep Down is looking to make a splash in a crowded space by carving out a niche in the deeper sides of house.

We premiere the techier groove ‘The Low Flow’ on Data Transmission, check it out here and grab it on Beatport.

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
