LUPA returns to mau5trap with “Born a Beast”

Share

LA-based DJ/Producer LUPA returns to mau5trap with “Born a Beast” out on February 16th, the first single off her forthcoming 2023 EP titled ‘Animosity’; boasting a dynamic techno soundscape, LUPA’s first single of the year is an ominously dark introduction to her upcoming project. First appearing on the deadmau5-owned imprint in 2021, the rising techno star LUPA is quickly establishing a name for herself in the global techno scene.

LUPA is a young techno producer/DJ signed to deadmau5’s label mau5trap. She has already released two EPs with the label, as well as a lead single from their ‘We Are Friends Vol 11’ compilation. Her third EP with mau5trap titled ‘Animosity’ will be released in the spring of 2023. More recently, she has performed as support on deadmau5’ recent U.S. tour, alongside other dance music events and clubs including EDC Las Vegas, Imagine Festival (Atlanta), Exchange LA & more.

“I’ve wanted to sample my dog for a while now but never had the appropriate song to use it in. While making “Born a Beast” I realized that the song needed some creepy ambiance and special effects, so I used the audio from a video of my dog panting and it fit perfectly. In the break and the pre-drop, you can hear my husky mix, Kiba, breathing. This is slightly ironic because Kiba is not a beast and very friendly to everyone he meets!”
