Jimmy V Gets Locked ‘On Repeat’ For Circus Recordings

Circus Recordings keeps the pressure on with Movements, Pt. 9, a stacked VA dropping June 12th, and our pick comes from rising UK name Jimmy V.

The compilation pulls together a strong spread of club-focused cuts from Alfie, Alegrezza, Alonso, Answer, Chanel Carmichael, Daniel Hewitt, Jay Young, JOE DRAMA and more. It’s the sort of VA that does exactly what it should, shining a light across the label’s wider circle while keeping one eye firmly on the floor.

Jimmy’s been doing the rounds across festivals in the UK and America, bringing a broad, well-travelled take on house music with him. His track ‘On Repeat’ lands right in the pocket.

Bubbly, deep and a little bit naughty, Jimmy V’s track rolls on a sleazy vocal, crisp drums and synths that keep the groove nudging forward. It has that warm-up-to-peak-time swing, built for basements, terraces and sweaty summer rooms.

We’re premiering ‘On Repeat’ today. Stream it below and grab Movements, Pt. 9 on Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
