JB Martinz lands on Nicole Moudaber’s MoodCollective with ‘Tomando El Control’ EP

JB Martinz lands on Nicole Moudaber’s MoodCollective on 14th August with the ‘Tomando El Control’ EP, and we’re premiering the title track.

Born in Lima and now based in Santiago, JB Martinz has been steadily building his name through releases on Repopulate Mars, Under No Illusion and Loco Dice’s SB Recordings, picking up support from Carl Cox, Marco Carola and Paco Osuna along the way.

JB Martinz’s ‘Tomando El Control’ gets straight to work. Heavy drums, chopped vocals and a rolling bassline sit at the centre, with bright synths adding pressure as the track builds. It is lean, direct and made for that point in the night when the room is already locked in.

Away from the studio, Martinz is a resident at Santiago’s Club Room and MISA parties, as well as co-founder of the Congueros Music event series, and that dancefloor experience comes through clearly here.

The release also marks his debut on MoodCollective, the first sub-label from Nicole Moudaber’s InTheMood empire, which has already welcomed Castion, Hannah Wants and Francisco Allendes.

We’ve got the first play of JB Martinz’s ‘Tomando El Control’ below. Turn it up, then grab the full EP when it lands on MoodCollective on 14th August.
