Hottrax Heat Incoming: FIFI FORTE drops a Low-Slung Groover with ‘Carnelian’

Share

FIFI FORTE is coming in hot. The rising UK selector has been catching ears with her bass-heavy blends, and now she’s landed on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax with a cut that’s pure heads-down groove.

Premiering today on DT, ‘Carnelian’ is a deep, hypnotic roller built for smoky basements and strobe-lit dancefloors. It’s stripped back, moody, and packed with low-end pressure. The kind of tune that creeps up and locks you into its rhythm before you even realise.

FIFI’s no stranger to digging into the foundations. Raised on a steady diet of Chicago house and UK funky, her productions nod to the past while pushing things forward with crisp, modern drums and slick sound design. ‘Carnelian’ is a perfect example – subtle, grooving, and endlessly playable.

She’s been announced for Paradise In The City this summer, and if this track’s anything to go by, it won’t be long before you’re hearing her tunes rinsed from rooftops to festival stages.

The full ‘Carnelian EP’ drops July 4th, but this one’s already on repeat here at DT HQ.

Stream the premiere now and grab it when it lands on Beatport.
